DESCRIPTION
The Napa Foundation for Options in Education is seeking to add a part-time Custodian to our wonderful team for our new charter school, Mayacamas Countywide Middle School, which opened Fall 2024. The ideal candidate will play an essential role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week, with flexible scheduling. However, some shifts will require late afternoon and early evening hours.
This role reports to the Director of Operations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred but not required.
Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
Good communication skills and a friendly, positive attitude.
Ability to work flexible hours, with availability for late afternoons and early evenings as required.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of classrooms, restrooms, hallways, and other school facilities; periodic deep cleaning.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors; dust and polish furniture and fixtures.
Clean and sanitize restrooms, replenish supplies as needed, and ensure cleanliness throughout the school.
Empty trash and recycling bins and dispose of waste appropriately.
Maintain and organize cleaning supplies and equipment.
Set up and arrange furniture for school events or meetings.
Report maintenance issues or needed repairs to school administration.
Assist with special cleaning projects as directed by the school’s management team.
Ensure safety and compliance with health and safety regulations.
WORK HOURS
Approximately 20 hours per week with flexible scheduling.
Some evenings may be required, typically late afternoons or early evenings.
