Minimum Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.

· Valid California teaching credential (multiple subject or single subject with appropriate authorization); candidates in the process of credential completion may be considered.

· Ability to teach students in grades 6–8.

Preferred Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes

· Strong background in music performance and/or composition, including contemporary music styles.

· Experience teaching beginning and advanced music students, including ensemble-based instruction.

· Knowledge of music theory, notation, rhythm, music history, and culturally responsive music education. · Experience with songwriting, modern band instruction, and basic recording or music technology.

· Comfort integrating project-based learning and collaborative instructional strategies. · Strong communication, organization, and classroom management skills.

· Ability to work flexibly and collaboratively in a start-up charter school environment.
