Benefits and Compensation

At Mayacamas Countywide Middle School, we provide our teachers and staff with a competitive compensation and benefits package. Moreover, what we promise is an amazing environment for our teachers and staff, providing an opportunity to be part of an exciting adventure building a school from the ground up.  In addition, there is professional development time built into the regular schedule, so that you can focus on the challenges of differentiated and highly-individualized learning for our diverse student population, and for full-time teachers a 90 minute preparation period each day.

Full-time teachers are expected to teach two 90-minute course blocks each day and cover two of the following additional alternative periods: Advisory or Learning Lab, and “X” period (7:55-8:40) or lunch/break supervision.  Part-time teachers are expected to cover one alternative period, all of which is designated by the Head of School in consultation with you.

We provide teacher salary and benefits approximately as described below. Actual salaries take into consideration numerous factors, including but not limited to years of experience (and whether that experience is full or part-time), masters or doctorate in field relevant to the role, hard to fill roles [e.g., SpEd ], bi-lingual/BCLAD, and extra assignments. We will also consider Cost of Living Adjustments each year based on numerous factors, including the school’s budget and financial stability, market conditions, the California Governor’s COLA designation and state and federal funding.

If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us at info@mayacamaschartermiddleschool.com.
