Benefits and Compensation

At Mayacamas Countywide Middle School we provide our teachers and staff with a competitive compensation and benefits package.  Moreover, what we promise is an amazing environment for our teachers and staff, providing an opportunity to be part of an exciting adventure building a school from the ground up.  In addition, there is professional development time built into the regular schedule, so that you can focus on the challenges of differentiated and highly-individualized learning for our diverse student population.

Salary​​

Expected Salary Range:  $62,000 - $96,000, depending on experience*

1 - 3 years: $62,000 - $68,000 (with starting salary at 0 years of service and Alternative Permit Waiver/Intern Credential)

4-8 years: $69,000 - $77,000

9-15 years: 78,000 - $87,000

16+: $88,000 - $96,000

 

Salary differentials will be provided for the following:

  • Masters or Doctorate in a field relevant to the role

  • Hard-to-fill credentials (SpEd and BClad)

  • Extra assignments

We expect to begin school in mid-August and end in mid-June.  In addition to their regular salary, teachers and certain staff will receive one to two weeks of paid professional development each summer.

Health Benefits

We offer a “California Choice” plan that provides at least 6 plan options, including a Kaiser Platinum “Base” plan, a PPO, and an HMO.  For employees that choose the base Kaiser Plan, Mayacamas covers 100% of the employee premium and contributes $25 per month for each dependent.   We also pay for a Vision and Dental Plan for the employee.  Employees who choose a more expensive plan than the base plan merely pay the difference in premium cost between the two plans.  If an employee is already covered by insurance and provides proof of insurance, the employee can waive coverage and receive “cash in-lieu” of coverage in the amount of $150 per month. 

 

Retirement Benefits

Mayacamas offers the flexibility and portability of a 403(b) retirement plan, with no waiting period and no vesting requirement.  We contribute 3% of salary in year 1 of employment and 5% in year 2 of employment (no employee contribution required). 

 

Additional Benefits

Mayacamas is pleased to offer fully paid Group Life Insurance (with a gross-up option) and Long-Term Disability for our employees.  We also offer an FSA dependent care and FSA healthcare program.
