Job Summary
The Napa Foundation for Options in Education is seeking experienced, dynamic, and passionate certificated teachers with diverse subject-matter backgrounds to join our substitute teacher pool, with the possibility of consideration for anticipated full-time teaching positions beginning Fall 2026. This role is ideal for adaptable educators with strong instructional skills, broad curriculum experience, and a desire to contribute to an innovative countywide charter middle school. Teachers report to the Head of School and are responsible for delivering high-quality instruction using applicable California-adopted curricula and aligned instructional resources across subject areas. Teachers foster a collaborative and engaging classroom environment for a diverse student population and support strong partnerships among students, families, faculty, and the broader school community. Organization Profile Mayacamas Countywide Middle School (MCMS) is a grades 6–8 public charter middle school that builds on the proven New Tech Network Project-Based Learning (PBL) model while incorporating best-in-class curricular resources to meet the needs of Napa County’s diverse families. MCMS is diverse by design, serving students with a wide range of academic profiles and learning needs. Through personalized instruction, project-based learning, blended learning tools, and a strong emphasis on social-emotional development, Mayacamas ensures students master California state standards in an inclusive, supportive, and engaging environment. Requirements / Qualifications
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university • Possession of, or active enrollment in, a California Multiple Subject or Single Subject teaching credential program • CLAD or BCLAD certification preferred • Ability to teach middle school students (grades 6–8) Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Experience • Teaching experience across one or more subject areas using California-adopted or standards-aligned curricula (e.g., ELA, Math, Science, Social Studies, Integrated or Elective courses) • Familiarity with project-based learning, interdisciplinary instruction, or the New Tech Network model • Willingness to participate in curriculum-specific training as needed • Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data to inform instruction • Strong communication and collaboration skills • Comfort with educational technology and learning management systems • Flexibility and adaptability in varied classroom settings, including substitute assignments • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and continuous professional growth Application Process Mayacamas Countywide Middle School is strongly committed to hiring a diverse and multicultural staff.
